Privacy Policy

VidNudge is an independent YouTube creator analytics service. This policy covers our public website at vidnudge.com and our creator application at app.vidnudge.com.

Information you choose to provide

If you contact us to request access, we receive the information you include in your email, such as your email address, name and optional channel details. The creator application uses Supabase authentication for account sign-in. We process information needed to provide and secure your account.

Google user data: access and use

VidNudge uses YouTube API Services. Connecting your Google Account is optional and takes place on Google's authorization screen. VidNudge does not receive your Google password. Your VidNudge sign-in account and your optional Google/YouTube authorization are separate.

When you authorize a connection, VidNudge requests these read-only permissions and uses the returned Google user data for the following features:

• YouTube channel identification — youtube.readonly: VidNudge requests the channel associated with your authorized Google Account, including its channel ID, name, description, thumbnail and available channel statistics such as total views, subscribers and video count. We use that response to identify and load your connected channel in the dashboard. This links the private connection to the channel you manage rather than relying only on a public channel search.
• Performance analytics — yt-analytics.readonly: VidNudge retrieves dated channel views and estimated minutes watched to display your private views and watch-hours reports for the selected reporting period. Where Google offers the relevant YouTube Reporting API report, VidNudge also creates or reuses a daily reach-report job and reads thumbnail impressions and click-through data to display reach insights. A report may be unavailable or awaiting generation.
• Revenue analytics — yt-analytics-monetary.readonly: VidNudge retrieves estimated channel revenue for the requested date range, in Canadian dollars, to show the connected creator's private estimated-revenue report. Availability depends on the channel, authorization and reporting period.
• Authorization credentials: Google supplies access and refresh tokens so VidNudge can make authorized requests and maintain your connection between visits. These credentials are associated with your VidNudge account; their handling and deletion are explained below.

We use Google user data to identify your connected channel, retrieve and display the reports you request, maintain the authorization, and provide and secure these features. The current connection does not upload, edit or delete videos or post comments. Public channel search, public uploads and public comments use separate public YouTube Data API requests and do not require your private authorization.

VidNudge's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or advertiser profiling, or disclose one creator's private reports to another creator. Authorized private channel data and reports are not sent to AdSense. We do not use Google user data to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.

Human access to Google user data is limited to your affirmative agreement to view specific data, necessary security investigations, applicable legal obligations, or aggregated and anonymized data used for internal operations in accordance with Google's Limited Use requirements.

Connection storage and your controls

Refresh tokens that keep your connection working are encrypted before storage in our server-side Supabase token store and associated with your VidNudge account. Access tokens are held in server memory. Google credentials are not returned to the browser. Private report responses pass through our server to your signed-in browser to display your insights; the current application does not save those report responses as a server-side analytics history.

To end your private connection, open Tools → My Plan → Disconnect my YouTube. A successful disconnection revokes the Google authorization, deletes VidNudge's stored connection credential for your account, and reloads the app to clear the current page's private metrics. If a disconnection cannot be confirmed, the app reports an error so you can retry.

You can also revoke VidNudge's access directly through Google's security permissions page. Revocation and deletion of your VidNudge account are separate actions. For removal of account information or other stored data, email vidnudgehq@gmail.com from your account email address, describe what you want deleted, and do not send passwords or security codes. We may need to verify your request before acting.

We recheck saved Google connections on a schedule. When Google confirms that a connection credential has been revoked or has expired, we remove that saved credential. Temporary service errors are retried rather than treated as proof that you revoked access.

Public view readings saved in your browser remain after a private YouTube disconnection. You can remove browser-saved readings by clearing VidNudge's site data. Reload or close other open VidNudge tabs after disconnecting so that they do not continue to display previously loaded private metrics.

Founding Creator invitations and plans

When a creator requests founding access, we may retain the email they provide, an invitation status and associated account identifier to administer the initial 100 invitations. No Pro charge or complimentary trial is started just by requesting or receiving an invitation. Paid membership is optional, with payment notices before purchase.

Saved creator plans and billing

If you use the Pro video planner, VidNudge stores the names, dates, stages, ideas, checklist choices and notes you save in Supabase, linked to your account. These plans are private to your account. You can export or delete individual plans in the planner, including after a subscription ends. Plans remain stored until you delete them or request account deletion. Your saved ideas are not sent to YouTube.

Stripe handles payment details. VidNudge stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, paid invoice identifiers and the paid period end to manage membership. VidNudge does not store your full card number. Billing records may be retained as required for accounting and legal obligations. Payment data is processed by Stripe under its Privacy Policy.

Browser-based tools

VidNudge's creator application uses browser storage for aspects of your session and previously viewed analytics. Optional CSV imports are processed in your browser rather than uploaded to the VidNudge server. Clearing browser data can remove locally saved readings.

Advertising and cookies

Our public website includes Google AdSense code for website verification and possible future advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure or personalize advertisements where permitted by law and your applicable choices. If ads are enabled, you may see advertising based on your visits to this and other sites. Learn more about Google's advertising technologies and Google ad settings. We will configure region-appropriate consent controls before enabling advertising where required.

Google user data: sharing, transfers and service providers

Google user data is processed through the following services to deliver your connected-channel features:

• Render — application hosting and processing: VidNudge's application server runs on Render. Google authorization codes, access and refresh tokens, connected-channel information and requested private analytics/revenue responses are processed by that server to complete authorization, call Google's APIs and return results to your signed-in browser. Google access tokens are held in application memory. Render also provides the hosting infrastructure for ordinary request and security information.
• Supabase — account authentication and connection storage: Supabase processes your VidNudge account information and authentication sessions. For your Google connection, VidNudge sends Supabase an account identifier, the encrypted Google refresh token and a record-update timestamp so the server can restore and maintain the correct user's authorization. The Google refresh token is encrypted by the application before it is stored. The current code does not save private analytics or revenue report responses as a Supabase analytics history.
• Google/YouTube — authorization and API services: VidNudge sends authorization codes and connection credentials to Google's authorization services to exchange, refresh, validate or revoke access. It sends access tokens and report parameters, such as the date range, to Google's YouTube Data, Analytics and Reporting APIs to obtain the channel information and reports described above. Where available, reporting jobs are maintained by Google.
• Your signed-in browser: VidNudge sends your connected-channel response and requested report results to your browser for display. Public view readings and some preferences may be stored locally. A downloaded view-history backup is created in your browser when you request it; it is not automatically sent to an external recipient.

These provider transfers support VidNudge's stated features; they are not permission to sell or use your Google user data for unrelated purposes. We do not provide authorized private channel reports or Google connection credentials to advertisers, data brokers or other creators. Website advertising and domain/DNS services are separate from private YouTube analytics: the application does not intentionally send those reports or credentials to AdSense or our domain/DNS provider.

We may disclose Google user data when necessary to comply with applicable law or address fraud, abuse or security risks, subject to Google's Limited Use requirements. Any other sharing must have an applicable basis under those requirements, including your consent where required. Contact vidnudgehq@gmail.com with questions about these transfers.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect account access and connected tokens. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information as needed to provide the service, meet applicable obligations and resolve security issues. You may contact us to ask about accessing or deleting your information.

Children and changes

VidNudge is intended for creators who are eligible to use its connected services and is not designed for children under 13. We may update this policy as the product changes. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
